ALROSA Apr–Jun diamond output falls 18% to 8.5 mln carats
MOSCOW, Jul 23 (PRIME) -- ALROSA’s diamond production shrank 18% on the year to 8.5 million carats in April–June because of output contraction at the Mir mine following a 2017 flood, a lower diamond content in ore of the Internatsionalnaya, Yubileinaya and the underground part of the Aikhal pipe, the company said in a statement on Monday.
ALROSA’s 2018 diamond production plan stands at 36.6 million carats.
Diamond sales amounted to 9 million carats, falling 32% on the quarter. Reserves amounted to 11 million carats.
